Over 17,815 Nevadans Enroll Through Nevada Health Link in First Month of Open Enrollment Period

CARSON CITY, Nev. – Open Enrollment through NevadaHealthLink.com began on November 1, and Nevadans are taking action to secure their health coverage for the upcoming new year. In the first month, over 17,815 individuals have actively shopped for and enrolled in plans, demonstrating a strong start to this year’s enrollment period.

Among these enrollees, 7,270 are new to Nevada Health Link, a 10% increase in the number of new enrollees compared to the same period last year. Additionally, 10,545 consumers actively re-enrolled or updated their plans for 2025. In total, Nevada Health Link now provides coverage to over 95,000 Nevadans.

Yesterday, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) posted their 2nd 2025 Open Enrollment Period (OEP) "Snapshot" report, which put Nevada at 15,226 active/new enrollees as of Nov. 23rd. This was up 13.6% from the same point last year.

I don't have the exact active/new enrollment figure thru Nov. 30th 2023, but thru Dec. 2nd it was 19,188. When you adjust for the extra two days, that works out to 594/day in November 2024 vs. 600/day last year, so on a per day basis active/new enrollment is actually down 1% so far. However...the auto-renewals make it difficult to draw any conclusions from this yet.

“This year, we are seeing even more Nevadans making their health a priority by taking action to get enrolled in a health or dental plan,” said Russell Cook, executive director of Nevada Health Link. “We’re encouraged by the number of enrollees taking advantage of the affordable, comprehensive coverage available through NevadaHealthLink.com. Nevada Health Link remains the only marketplace in the state offering financial assistance and tax credits to lower monthly premiums, making comprehensive health coverage more accessible and affordable. Currently, 85% of enrollees utilize subsidies, significantly reducing their monthly premium.
