Weekly Update: How #COVID19 has spread across every U.S. state & territory per capita over time

A picture is worth 1,000 words and all that.

I've done my best to label every state/territory, which obviously isn't easy to do for most of them given how tangled it gets in the middle.

Nearly 1 out of every 7 residents of North Dakota and Rhode Island have tested positive for COVID-19 to date.

More than 1 out of every 8 residents of South Dakota has tested positive to date.

More than 1 out of every 9 residents of Iowa, Utah, Tennessee, Arizona, Nebraska, Oklahoma, New Jersey and South Carolina.

More than 1 out of 10 in Arkansas, Alabama, New York, Kansas, Indiana, Delaware, Mississippi, Idaho, Illinois, Georgia, Florida, Wisconsin, Nevada, Montana and Minnesota.

More than 1 out of 20 in every state & territory EXCEPT Guam, Maine, Oregon, Vermont, zU.S. Virgin Islands, Hawaii, N. Mariana Islands & American Samoa.

Next, let's look at the cumulative mortality rate for every U.S. state and territory. Here, New Jersey and New York are still worse than the rest of the country (primarily due to their mass deaths from March - May last spring)...but as you can see, several other states are, tragically, also catching up to them on this front as well.

COVID-19 has killed over 1 out of every 350 residents of New Jersey.

It's killed more than 1 out of every 380 New Yorkers.

More than 1 out of every 400 Massachusetts residents.

More than 1 out of every 500 residents of Rhode Island, Mississippi, Arizona, Connecticut, Louisiana, South Dakota, Alabama and Pennsylvania.

More than 1 out of 600 in Indiana, North Dakota, New Mexico, Illinois, Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee, Nevada, Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma.

More than 1 out of 700 in Delaware, Ohio, Florida, West Virginia, District of Columbia, California, Missouri, Montana, Kentucky and Maryland.

More than 1 out of 800 in Minnesota and Virginia.

More than 1 out of 900 in Wyoming, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Idaho and Colorado.
